Did you ever know a kid who begged and pleaded to have a pony for his birthday? Every year? What is it with kids and their birthdays that make them want the most outrageous things? What’s wrong with a couple of good books or maybe a new sweater? Why must they ask each and every year for that one thing they really, really don’t need and probably shouldn’t have?
Yeah.
Who is not even a little annoying when I ask him what he wants for dinner? POPCORN!
Every. Day.
And who actually said to me, “I’ll bet the other grandparents don’t have a popcorn machine.”?
I suppose it could have been worse, he could have really wanted a pony.
