Change is the only constant…

I have finished my painting project. There will be more, but for now, I just wanted to get the kitchen done and the living room, as these are the two rooms  where we spend the most time and the ones our guests see all the time.

Here are the before pictures to remind you that this house is white. As in never ever been painted.

Okay, don’t look at me messing with the dogs, all those wineglasses or the grey in my hair. Look at the walls of the kitchen.

I’m sure many of you remember this picture from when I made the cubby disappear:

Here is what it looks like now:

                                                                   Hi Zoe!  ^

Isn’t it amazing what just a little color on the walls can do? I may change the curtain out to something a little lighter, but I want to look at it for a while first.

I am off to find a Bond girl dress for the party tomorrow. I asked what do Bond girls wear, seeing as how I’ve never seen a James Bond movie. (Yes, I am from planet Neptune, apparently) The boys said, in sync actually, “Something slinky and sexy”. Ooookay. This body isn’t made so much for slinky and sexy anymore, so hows about tasteful and refined? I’m pretty sure I can pull that one off. Until after the second martini, then all bets are off.

Speaking of getting pickled, I hope I have time to pickle these today.

I believe I have enough for a jar of spears and one of small dills. My dad made a good point, that I should pickle the same sizes. Well, that just makes sense, doesn’t it?

Last night, we used my first large tomato for our hamburgers and oh my! was it ever delicious! The little grape ones are really good, too.

Okay, no more chit-chat, I have to go get Bonded, Bonderized or something like that.

What are your plans for the holiday weekend?

Tasteful and refined never goes out of style - unlike our bodies...

  3. I love that cheerful shade of yellow. Great job!

I've also never seen a James Bond movie, but I've always pictured Bond girls in flapper dresses, which aren't slinky, but I think they are kind of sexy.

  5. Great color! I'm thinking of doing our house in something buttery golden, if that's a thing.

This weekend, I'm going to the baptism of my next door neighbor's twins, IN CALIFORNIA. Weird how that worked out. Then, Sunday is a pool party with family, and Monday is a bbq with friends. Great way to party it up before heading back to Texas.

Enjoy your Bond party. If it helps at all, one of the Bond girls was named Pussy Galore. Just sayin'.
