It isn’t what you have in your pocket that makes you thankful, but what you have in your heart…

I am thankful.

I am thankful for the love of my parents, husband and children. They, each in their very own way, are the bright spots that get me through the days.

I am thankful for the health of my family. It was a tough year, last year. This year everyone has straight- A report cards.

I am thankful for my dogs. Owning a pet is a luxury not everyone can afford, and I am lucky to have two. I can’t imagine a day without a big, slobbery, bulldog kiss and a game of hide and seek with Zoe.

I am thankful for the people who share my life, not because they have to, but because they want to. Whether we live close or far away, my friends have always meant so much to me. I love all of you.

I am thankful to live in a country where I am free to pray where I want, work where I please, and say what I like. I have the freedom to have my little blog and write about whatever moves me which is usually the dogs.

I am thankful for the men and women who volunteer every day to protect those freedoms for me. You guys rock!

And I am thankful for you, my faithful readers, for taking time out of your busy lives to stop in to say hello, offer a shoulder or share a story. It’s hard to remember back to a time when your friends were only the people in your neighborhood. How awesome to be able to reach out, around the world, and make new friends. I am truly blessed.

I wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving. Enjoy your day and save me a piece of pie.
